About This Spot

Stepping into Yamato Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar, you’re greeted by a warm blend of tradition and casual charm tucked right off Fort Campbell Boulevard. The space embraces a lively yet relaxed tempo where the hum of conversation and the steady rhythm of the hibachi grill come together, inviting diners to slow down and savor more than just the meal.

This isn’t just another stop on your route – it’s a spot where the experience unfolds in shared moments around the sizzling teppanyaki tables. Friends and families often find themselves paired together, drawn into the subtle theatricality of the chefs’ skilled, playful performances that balance precision with friendly banter. The atmosphere feels fresh and inviting, thoughtfully maintained, reflecting a genuine care that customers naturally notice and appreciate.

Beyond the show, the menu offers a rich variety that spotlights both classic and creative takes on Japanese fare. Whether it’s the satisfying harmony of hibachi-grilled meats paired with vibrant vegetable medleys or the delicate craftsmanship evident in each sushi roll, the flavors are familiar yet never predictable. With options ranging from comforting fried rice to artfully arranged bento boxes, the offerings invite exploration without overwhelming. Drinks like the Tequila Sunrise add a relaxed, convivial touch to the table, complementing the varied tastes of a diverse crowd.

Yamato is the kind of place where the experience lingers, shaped as much by the warmth of its staff as it is by the food. Many find themselves returning for the approachable hospitality and that unmistakable feeling of connection—a reminder of why dining out is about more than just eating. It’s about the small, human moments that transform a meal into a shared memory.

This is an old establishment along the busy highway and the atmosphere inside is fresh and well maintained cleanliness. The service was great and the food are fantastic. We went there yesterday Aug 25, 2025 Monday 11am. And it was my first time to visit there as I am 1 month + here in America..

My family and I have wanted to try Yamato out for the last year and just hadn’t stopped in. Well today was the day we stopped and I regret not coming in sooner. We chose to sit in a booth instead of at the hibachi grills. We ordered appetizers, Gyoza , tempura shrimp and Bulgogi. I will say the appetizers were good but the Bulgogi wasn’t as sweet as it is at other restaurants but I asked for some sriracha and that made this bulgogi better. For our “meals,” we each ordered a sushi roll and then one sushi roll to share, making it 5 rolls total. We ate every last piece of sushi! They were very good!! We will go back again, for sure!

What a great little place! We stopped at Yamato Japanese Steakhouse for dinner and really enjoyed the experience. We got seated with another family at a big hibachi table and we left as friends! It was great watching the chef prepare our meals right in front of us, and give a show with spinning eggs and an onion volcano! Our food was hot and delicious.

Great experience. The cook (Roberto) was so cool and friendly. The food was delicious and so tasty. My steak was just right, the shrimp was so good. I enjoyed everything I had. Definitely a 5. Thank you!!! Great time!
